Groundwater analytics

Our groundwater is largely protected from contamination by intact soil and rock layers. However, this natural protective function of the groundwater cover is not always sufficient and can be impaired by human activities, among other things. In this context, the following should be mentioned in particular

Within the scope of contaminated site investigations and remediation, groundwater investigations, among other things, can provide information on the need for remediation or the success of remediation. In monitoring projects, regular sampling of selected measuring points provides important information on groundwater reserves and groundwater quality.

In addition to a large number of so-called basic parameters (physico-chemical parameters, anions, cations), special attention is paid to the determination of inorganic and organic pollutants.

Our clients are public authorities as well as private companies, such as:

We have the necessary accreditation according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 for sampling and analysis and are additionally notified according to the specialist module soil and contaminated sites as well as the specialist module water.

Things to know about groundwater

Groundwater is defined according to DIN 4049 as:

"underground water that coherently fills the cavities of the earth's crust and whose movement is determined exclusively or almost exclusively by gravity and the frictional forces triggered by the movement itself".

It is formed by percolation of precipitation and infiltration of water from rivers and lakes.

It flows in cavities and occasionally emerges in the form of springs, artesian wells or dredged lakes.
